Tony Porter

Tony Porter is Eden's Delivery Director, overseeing every stage of project delivery from planning and contracts through to handover. His view of the job is straightforward: construction is rarely perfect. A design doesn't always translate exactly onto a real roof, deliveries slip and programmes change. What matters is how the team responds, quickly and openly, with the client involved in every decision.

Tony started out as an apprentice electrician at SEE and worked there as an electrician before moving to Wessex Electrical, where he progressed from Project Manager to Contracts Manager. He joined Eden in 2023 and has since overseen around 80 installations. These include a 613kWp gull-wing solar carport for Brioche Pasquier, which he describes as the steepest learning curve of his career.

Since 2014, Tony has also been an on-call firefighter with Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. That role has shown him at first hand the damage that poorly designed or installed rooftop solar can cause. It has directly shaped how Eden works, with safety built into every stage from design and construction through to ongoing maintenance.
