The Challenge
UK Power Networks (UKPN) is responsible for delivering safe, reliable electricity to millions of customers across the UK. As part of its commitment to decarbonisation and operational efficiency, UKPN sought a robust on-site renewable energy solution that would reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs, and align with strict performance, compliance, and safety standards. The project required a trusted delivery partner with proven experience in designing and implementing high-quality commercial solar systems within regulated, mission-critical environments.
The Solution
Eden Sustainable designed and delivered a 344 kWp commercial solar PV system, tailored to UKPN’s operational requirements and energy profile. Drawing on extensive experience in complex commercial installations, Eden managed the entire project lifecycle, including feasibility assessment, system design, planning coordination, installation, grid connection, and commissioning. The system was engineered to maximise on-site energy generation while ensuring compliance, resilience, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
The Results
The solar installation now delivers measurable financial and environmental benefits, saving UKPN an average of £54,975 per year in electricity costs and reducing carbon emissions by 73,665 kg of CO₂ annually. Beyond immediate savings, the project supports UKPN’s wider net-zero ambitions, enhances energy resilience, and provides long-term price certainty. This case study demonstrates Eden Sustainable’s trusted expertise in delivering reliable, high-performance solar solutions for critical national infrastructure.
