The Brief
Hazelwick School, a forward-thinking secondary school in West Sussex, approached Eden Sustainable to install a rooftop solar PV system in order to demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability, education, and provide long-term financial resilience. It approached Eden due to its established presence as a solar installer in the education sector.
The Outcome
As educators of tomorrow’s leaders, Hazelwick understood the importance of modelling environmental responsibility and embedding sustainability into everyday practice.
The resulting 102kWP rooftop system unlocked c. £30k in annual energy cost savings, as well as reducing harmful CO2 emissions by almost 100 tones per annum.
Beyond the environmental and financial benefits, the solar installation offers powerful educational value. Students can engage with real-time data from the system, learning about renewable energy, climate science, and sustainability in action. It’s a living example of how technology and environmental stewardship can work hand-in-hand, and a message to future generations that sustainability is not just a goal, but a responsibility.
