The Challenge
Guhring operates an energy-intensive manufacturing facility where reliability, efficiency, and sustainability are critical. With rising electricity costs and ambitious carbon-reduction targets, the business needed a solution that would deliver meaningful savings while making best use of its available assets. The challenge was to design a system that maximised both rooftop space and under-utilised ground areas, without disrupting daily operations or compromising site safety.
The Solution
Eden Sustainable designed and delivered a 570 kWp solar PV system, combining a tailored rooftop installation with a ground-mounted array to unlock the full renewable potential of the site. Drawing on Eden’s end-to-end expertise, the project was managed from feasibility and system design through to installation, grid connection, and commissioning. This integrated approach ensured optimal performance, seamless delivery, and minimal disruption to Guhring’s operations.
The Results
The completed solar installation now delivers significant commercial and environmental benefits. Guhring is saving an average of £116,000 per year on electricity costs while reducing carbon emissions by 107,518 kg of CO₂ annually. The project provides long-term energy price certainty, reduces reliance on grid electricity, and strengthens Guhring’s sustainability credentials.
