The Challenge
Florentia Village, a vibrant creative hub in North London, hosts a diverse mix of tenants, from fashion designers to artisan workshops, all with growing energy needs. As the landlord, Florentia faced the dual challenge of improving the site’s sustainability credentials while managing rising operational costs. With tenants increasingly conscious of their environmental impact, there was a clear opportunity to offer greener energy, but without compromising the site’s commercial viability or disrupting day-to-day operations.
The Solution
Eden delivered a bespoke commercial solar installation, enabling Florentia Village to take full ownership of the system and its long-term benefits. Our team designed and installed a high-efficiency rooftop solar array that aligned with the site’s energy profile and architectural character. By generating clean electricity on-site, Florentia could sell power directly to its tenants at a competitive rate, creating a new revenue stream while offering tenants a sustainable energy option. Eden managed the entire process, from feasibility and planning to installation and grid connection, ensuring a seamless transition to solar.
The Outcome
Florentia Village now benefits from reduced grid reliance, lower energy costs, and a stronger sustainability narrative, enhancing its appeal to current and prospective tenants. The ability to sell solar electricity internally has turned energy into an asset, improving returns and reinforcing the site’s reputation as a forward-thinking landlord. This project demonstrates Eden's ability to unlock commercial value through solar, helping property owners turn rooftops into revenue while supporting the transition to net zero.
