The Challenge

Brose operates advanced manufacturing facilities that require significant and consistent energy to support production processes. With energy costs continuing to rise and increasing expectations around environmental responsibility within the automotive supply chain, the company sought a practical way to reduce operating costs while lowering its carbon footprint. The challenge was to introduce a renewable energy solution that could support Brose’s operational requirements, deliver measurable financial returns, and contribute to long-term sustainability goals without disrupting manufacturing activities.

The Outcome

Eden Sustainable designed and installed a 590kWp rooftop solar PV system tailored to the site’s energy demand and operational profile. The installation maximises available roof space to generate clean electricity during peak production hours, helping the facility reduce reliance on grid power. Using high-efficiency solar technology and expert system design, Eden delivered a reliable commercial solar solution that integrates seamlessly with the site’s existing electrical infrastructure while supporting Brose’s wider sustainability ambitions.

The Results

The solar installation provides clear financial and environmental benefits for the site:

• Annual energy savings: Approximately £121,500 in reduced electricity costs.

• Carbon reduction: 99,464kg of CO₂ saved each year, supporting emissions reduction targets.

• Operational resilience: Increased onsite renewable generation helps protect the business from volatile energy markets.
