The Challenge
Ashburnham Place is a historic estate set within extensive grounds and used for retreats, events, and community activities. Like many large venues, the estate faces significant energy demands alongside a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. Rising electricity costs and the desire to reduce carbon emissions created a clear need for a sustainable energy solution that could deliver long-term financial savings without compromising the character and operation of the site. The challenge was to introduce renewable energy infrastructure that would support the estate’s sustainability ambitions while providing reliable, cost-effective power.
The Outcome
Eden Sustainable designed and installed a 124kWp solar PV system tailored to the estate’s energy profile. The system was carefully integrated to maximise onsite generation while maintaining the integrity of the property and its surroundings. By combining high-efficiency solar technology with expert system design and installation, Eden delivered a solution that allows Ashburnham Place to generate clean electricity onsite, reduce reliance on grid power, and strengthen its long-term energy resilience.
The Results
The installation delivers measurable financial and environmental benefits for the estate:
Annual energy savings: Approximately £56,500 per year in reduced electricity costs.
Carbon reduction: 24,711kg of CO₂ saved annually, supporting the estate’s sustainability commitments.
Long-term resilience: Greater protection from rising energy prices through onsite renewable generation.
This project demonstrates how well-designed commercial solar PV systems can help historic venues and large estates lower operating costs, reduce carbon emissions, and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
