Eden Sustainable receives Sunday Times 100 accolade

Eden Sustainable Limited, an Exeter-based solar developer has been listed in the 2022 edition of the Sunday Times 100, a prestigious annual ranking of Britain’s fastest growing private companies.

Eden Sustainable is Ranked #36 in the 2022 Sunday Times 100

The company, ranked #36, was founded in 2014, and in recent years has seen a sharp increase in demand, as renewable energy has risen to the top of board room agendas, driven by net zero ambitions and a spike in energy costs.

Customers include General Electric, Oasis Community Learning Multi Academy Trust, Iron Mountain, insulation manufacturer Xtratherm, Yorkshire based pork pie brand Vale of Mowbray, and Accrington based office furniture manufacturer Senator. View our case studies here.

The solar delivery model includes a full in-house service by one team, from design, funding, installation and post-install O&M. Clients are offered a range of finance options, including self-fund and Power Purchase Agreements, a model where they pay nothing for the installation, but let Eden install the solar on their roof and then buy the power back from Eden.

The Eden team lives and breathes the sustainability message with both head and heart. At its core, are its values to care for the planet and people in this state of climate emergency.

The wider group of companies includes The Pickwell Foundation, a charitable trust which supports displaced people and is currently proactively helping to resettle hundreds Ukrainian refugees in Devon; Pickwell Manor, a sustainable tourism business near Croyde Bay in North Devon; and Homemade, a social housing charity.

Eden Co-Founding Director Scott Burrows is a Trustee of Protect Our Winters UK, a charity that harnesses people’s love of the outdoors to create systemic solutions to climate change.

Last year, the Eden Group entered the Electric Vehicle Charging market via a JV with start-up, econetiQ.

Steve Baker, Co-Founding Director and Chairman of Eden Sustainable comments: “I am really pleased and delighted that we have been listed in the Sunday Times 100. This reflects several years of hard work, investment, significant recruitment, and measured business development and will only help to stimulate further growth. The renewable energy market is an exciting and dynamic marketplace and ultimately is so necessary for the transition to a low carbon economy.”

The Sunday Times 100 is a recognised list of the top performing private companies in the country. Previously branded the Sunday Times FastTrack 100, historical winners include big name brands including BrewDog (2019), Five Guys (2017) and Moonpig.com (2010).

Steve, a serial entrepreneur, is no stranger to this list; he has previously been listed in four companies where he has been both a founder Director and Shareholder listed in the Sunday Times FastTrack 100. Steve is a great believer that business can be used as a force for positive social impact.

Companies in the 2022 Sunday Times 100 will be invited to a networking dinner in London later in the year. Congratulations to all those named, especially through these very challenging recent years of trading.
