Eden installs 1MW solar pv system at Vale of Mowbray

Solar pv installation at Vale of Mowbray

Eden Sustainable Ltd has developed, designed, and installed a 997kWp (2,524 panels) solar pv system at the Vale of Mowbray pork pie bakery, located in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire.

The solar panel system will save Vale of Mowbray over £4 million across the 25 years of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Furthermore, it will help to save approximately 200 tonnes of CO2 each year.

The family-owned bakery makes 1.5 million pork pies each week.

Mark Gatenby, managing director at Vale of Mowbray, said: “This solar installation will not only drastically reduce our greenhouse emissions, but also provide energy price stability and savings at this particularly uncertain period for energy markets.”

Scott Burrows, Co-Founding Director at Eden Sustainable said: “Eden Sustainable is delighted to work with flagship organisations such as Vale of Mowbray. We have all seen power prices increasing dramatically, and solar is an excellent way to provide increased certainty around energy overheads. Vale of Mowbray has made the most of Eden’s zero capital solution, meaning there are no initial or ongoing costs, whilst still benefitting from dramatic financial and carbon savings. Eden develops, constructs, and operates the power plant.”
