Landlink Estates is a property company undertaking both direct and funded development of strategic land, whilst managing an established mixed-use portfolio. As landlords, Landlink Estates wanted to help their tenants, Langmead Herbs and Natures Way Foods, reduce energy costs whilst creating a sustainable revenue stream for their own business.

"Eden’s offering was by far the best than their competitors. Financially it really works, it’s the right thing to do, and it demonstrates to key customers and stakeholders we are doing the right thing. It makes sense financially for both parties. They win from a discount to market rate on electricity and we win by investing and getting a return on what they are paying us for that electricity. So it is a win-win!"
Mr Peter O-Brien Ward,
Finance Director, Landlink Estates
Working with Eden, Landlink Estates installed solar panels across four of their Sussex properties, specifically to benefit their tenants. Rather than the tenants purchasing solar themselves, Landlink invested in the infrastructure and established Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to sell clean electricity directly to their tenants, Langmead Herbs and Natures Way Foods, at below-market rates.
Tenants benefit from:
-
Reduced energy costs through discounted electricity rates
-
Predictable energy pricing for better financial planning
-
Improved ESG credentials without capital investment
Meanwhile, Landlink Estates secures a steady income stream over the 25-year contract period. This innovative landlord-tenant solar model demonstrates how property owners could create value for both their business and their tenants through strategic sustainability investments.

"[The installation] went really well. No disruption, no service level impacts, no site disruption and it was seamless. Absolutely seamless. All of the health & safety was impeccable."
